About Us

The Grand Blanc Senior Activity Center, located at 12632 Pagel's Drive in Grand Blanc. The Senior Center is open daily Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm .

The Banquet Room (capacity is 290) and Craft Room (32 people) are available to rent for small or large groups. Plan your next Wedding, Graduation, Family Reunion or Shower at the Senior Center. Please click here for more information.

Mission Statement

Grand Blanc Senior Center, Advisory Board, and Staff are committed to making the Grand Blanc Senior Center a focal point where older persons of all ethnic, economic, and religious backgrounds, may come together as individuals or in groups for programs and services which enhance dignity, support independence, provide stimulating educational opportunities and encourage involvement within the community.

Membership Information

Membership is open to anyone who is 50 years and older. Membership dues are $10 per person. Membership is tax deductible. Become a member today and enjoy all the center has to offer! Spread the word to your friends, family and neighbors about all the great programs, events and trips the Senior Center has to offer! Make checks payable to: Grand Blanc Parks and Recreation.

Special Notes & General Services

  • If Grand Blanc schools are closed due to inclement weather, the Senior Center will also be closed. Please call 695-3202 if you are unsure.
  • The Senior Advisory Board meets the third Monday of each month.
  • We have cell phones available in the office. They ONLY call 911 and are great for emergencies.
  • This program/service is partially or fully funded by the Genesee County Senior Services Millage. Your tax dollars at work.

Rules of Participation

In order for everyone to enjoy activities and services in safety and comfort, participants are asked to abide by the following rules:

  1. Individuals shall not engage in any activity which is disruptive to the legitimate use of the Senior Center premises by others.
  2. Individuals may not engage in any activity that may present a danger to themselves or to others.
  3. Individuals may not: (a) Panhandle (b) Use inappropriate language (Obscene, Abusive, Loud, or Rude) (c) Threaten or demean others (d) Solicit for any purpose without prior approval (e) Use tobacco products (smoking is permitted outside the Senior Center building-25ft from entrance ways or airways)
  4. The starting or spreading of malicious gossip and rumors will not be tolerated.
  5. Individuals may not participate in any illegal activity while on Senior Center premises.
  6. Individuals may not participate in Senior Center activities and services while under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs or while carrying a weapon.
  7. Individuals may not abuse or steal Senior Center property.
  8. Personal hygiene must not be offensive to others.
  9. Individuals may not seriously change/alter/move scheduled program activities or building furnishings without prior approval by Office Staff.
  10. Individuals must leave premises in the same condition in which they found it.
  11. Individuals may not bring pets (except Guide Dogs) into the Senior Center building.

In addition, all individuals must:

  1. Be able to function on the Senior Center premises without one-to-one assistance or supervision by Senior Center Staff. Any individuals from Adult Foster Care Facility, Group Home, Skilled Nursing Facility or any other Supervised Program must have an individual caregiver accompany them at all times while at the Center. One caregiver per person, no exceptions.
  2. Be able to walk safely and independently when on the Senior Center premises (or use a wheelchair independently) or must be accompanied by a responsible person who will provide the assistance as needed.
  3. Understand their responsibility and be able to conform their behavior to the Rules of Participation of the Senior Center.

Failure to abide by these Rules of Participation may result in an individual being asked to leave the premises until such a time as they are willing to conform to these Rules.

 

 

 

Refund Policy

All refunds must be requested prior to the second class or activity meeting with the exception of single-day classes and trips. No refunds will be given for single-day classes unless cancellation is made at least 24 hours in advance. Refunds for trips will only be given if your seat is filled by another traveler unless otherwise noted on the trip brochure. Refunds will be paid in full when classes or trips are cancelled by the Grand Blanc Senior Center Office. No refunds or deductions will be given for classes or trips missed by participants. A $7.00 administration fee will be charged on all refunds other than Senior Center cancellations. Requests for refunds must be made to the Grand Blanc Senior Center Office by phone. In order to receive any refund, the participant must show proof of registration (the participant’s copy of registration receipt).

Note: There will be a two-week waiting period on all refunds.  Refunds will be made in the form of a check.
